Charizard has made numerous "guest appearances", I read the synopsis for Ash' Battle Frontier battle, and Charizard was used.
Besides, since the Battle Frontier challenge buildings is in Kanto, maybe Pidgeot will show up too, since Viridian Forest is so close to Pallet.
Corphish and Grovyle should evolve, that would really make an add-on to Ash's team.

I'm not sure but I think MAYBE SPOILER: Grovyle does has evolved by the time we reach Mew & The Wave Guiding Hero but I'll have to check it.

I remember seeing a Mew & The Wave Guiding Hero poster with a Sceptile on it but now that I think about it, I couldn't easily tell the difference between Grovyle & Sceptile at that angle.
