The thing with the DSi, was that it was purely to create more revenue, very quickly as sales and share prices had begun to drop threateningly low for the company, and they needed something to pick up the slack.

I don't think this has been said yet, say I will say it now. The 3DS will have a gyro sensor (The thing in the Iphone/Ipod Touch which lets you use the device as a steering wheel/flip the image on it's side). Just think, Mario Kart 3DS would be amazing.

Oh, wow, really? That is quite cool, i just want to see if they'll incirporate it into their games a lot or just on a few games.

huh, never read that closely enough to realize that.... but even so, is it really necessary?? even my iPod Touch is a little inaccurate sometimes, and it has the best gyro sensor on any electronic that i've seen/used. so if it winds up being worse than that, wouldn't it be more of an annoyance than anything??

First off, the feature would most likely only be included in the racing/vehicle games (Mario Kart 3DS, Ridge Racer, Chocobo Racing, possibly PilotWings). But if it does become of annoyance, I hope for a feature to turn it off, with alternate controls for games which use it heavily. Still, I think it really cool using the device as a steering wheel in Mario Kart.

uh, if it's built in like it says on that link, it won't "come with the game." if you mean that's what it'll be used for, possibly. usually, on iPod Touch and iPhone, there's alternate controls, so i don't really think that'll be an issue. i just meant they have to pull it off really well to meet with the competition/standards.

I didn't mean it would be included with the game. I meant the function would only work on some specific games. (Would you really be wanting to play Kid Icarus, turn the 3DS on it's side and run in the other direction?)

actually, the accelerometer/"gyro sensor" would work really well for flight sims (as might be found in Kid Icarus). And my guess would be that it's an optional kinda thing (either tilt or use the d-pad to run). not both at the same time.

I hope so cause if it's not optional then I don't want it to even be a feature really cause like with most Wii games forcing you to use the Wii Motion controls, it will be simply be a bad idea in general per say...that being said I really hope they add this feature properly...

I am extremely looking forward to the 3DS! The only DS I've had is the first one that ever came out, I've had it for over 6 years and, as you can imagine, it's pretty banged up. Wonder it still works :/

i can't wait to make 3D photos!

I'm not sure if the gyroscope is gonna be used as much for racing games as in those games like Monkey Ball and Kororinpa (s?), no?
