I love that book Eragon, but it's not my favourite. My favourite is "Where the red fern grows". It 's very sad and dramatic.

Fangs of K'aath
I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel which has been finished for a while but is taking forever to be released because of publisher issues.

Catherine Fisher's The Oracle, the Archon and the Scarab trilogy.
Apart from those, all hail Terry Pratchett, the almighty Weird Al of literature, and his Discworld Saga (especially Mort and The Wyrd Sisters)!

Update: Life of Pi has become one of my favourite books. To anyone who likes a good story and appreciates great writing, I highly recommend this book. I am currently reading The Kite Runner, and am near the end. So far, it is also a very excellent book, if a little weak when it comes to the actual way it's written. The story is absolutely fascinating, though.

Artemis Fowl is great, but I prefer Vivian Vande Velde's stories:
Companions of the Night(spooky)
Now You See it...(Funny & scratch-your-head-in-confusion weird)
There's a Dead Person Following My Sister Around(don't ask)

I liked Tamora Pierce's Trickster's Choice. It was fun, quick, but interesting. I also enjoy (can't remember the author's name) Recluce. Slightly long and dry, but interesting books. Oh, and Ender's Game and The Fountainhead.
