Post subject:  Favorite Artists/Bands

You'd think a thread like this would be a given in a music forum. I *was* gonna have this include LEAST favorite bands as well, but then realized that people might and very likely WOULD get offended. So name your FAVORITES only, please! :)

Mine are Model Engine, Skillet, Def Leppard, Live, Alter Bridge, the Beatles, and fROMdUST. matchbox twenty and Jet deserve recognition, as well.

Duran Duran, FleetMacwood, The Cutting Crew, A Flock of Seagulls. Yes I'm an 80's person. :D

And if you consider Pink Floyd to be a band then they are at the top of the list. However some don't. :?

Oh boy. In no real order:

Styx, REO Speedwagon, The Who, Aerosmith, Guns 'n' Roses, The S3x Pistols (boots language filter), Scooter, Weird Al, Warren Zevon, John Mellencamp, Queen, BTO, CCR, The Ramones, MXPX, Black Sabbath, They Might Be Giants, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd, Skynyrd, U2, Dire Straits, AC/DC, Offspring, The Black Mages, Jackson Browne, Alice Cooper, Cheap Trick... the list goes on...

Honorable mentions (ie, I like a few songs):

Simple Plan, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Forigner, The Guess Who, Blink 182, Green Day, Good Charlotte, Gordon Lightfood (Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald is an awesome song), Flogging Molly...

There's too many bands to list. If I ever did get digital copies of all the songs I want, it would take a massive RAID array to store them all. I could easily have 10,000 songs.

No one is going to get offended just because you don't like a band - it is somewhat different to telling someone to get a time machine because their father died.

Anyway:

1. Alice Cooper
2. Buzzcocks
3. Deep Purple
4. The Undertones
5. The Damned
6. The Rolling Stones
7. The Stranglers
8. Fleetwood Mac
9. Idlewild
10. The Sex Pistols

Do the oompahs count as a band? Oomp-pah, loomp-pah. Oompady, doo!

Other than that, I like Country singers in general, Smash Mouth, Switch Foot, and Smashing Pumpkins.

My favorite would have to be The Trans-Sibirian Orchistra. For thoes who have never heard of them, They are a rock orchistra, that plays mostly Chrisstmas music, with tthe exseption being Beetoven's Last Night.

I have "The Last Christmas Eve," and it's quite good. I prefer their instrumental stuff, however. The vocalists they choose don't really seem to fit the style of music.

Van Halen
Guns N' Roses
Dire Straits
The Who
Yes
Metallica (before St. Anger)
Aerosmith
Velvet Revolver (I saw them last month. They're one of the only modern bands I can stand to listen to, because they're pretty much Guns N' Roses.)
