Hey, I'm looking for suggestions for older (not within the last...couple months, I guess?) games that don't require the use of some of the DS's functions...especially the mic...the touch screen is fine, though...anyways, I've got these games, so do NOT bother suggesting them...

Brain Age - Yeah, I couldn't do any of the mic stuff, but it was still enjoyable...got boring after I unlocked everything though...

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates

Final Fantasy III

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings

Pokémon: Diamond Version - Um, yeah, I'm gonna say don't suggest Pearl either, m'kay?

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller

I'm looking mainly for RPGs, but anything that's GOOD is cool...I can always decide once I see the suggestions too, right? lol

EDIT: Oh yeah, I ask for those specifics because I emulate...:P

Y-Y-You use emulators?? Just buy the games, they aren't that much money. And if you use emulators, the gaming companies will go broke, shut down, all their employees lives ruined, and millions of fans lives ruined because the company won't make any more games! Emulators are the downfall of society! Soon they're going to have sex emulators. Well, they technically do already... Though without that not being just emulated, it will literally be the end of all mankind!

From my "Stupid Insults" thread, where people tell eachother how people insulted them in a hilariously stupid manner, how ironic!

I see emulation as just a form of renting w/o having to give any money to any middleman...If I really like the game I play, I plan on actually buying it sometime in the future...So yeah, it's really no different from MP3s if you ask me. It's not the end of mankind, but the start of a newer, better chapter of mankind's development! Sex emulators...Real dolls? Anyways...you totally didn't suggest anything!

Answer the damn question, don't give him a lecture on using emulators. He can do whatever he wants, and telling him to buy the actual game is going off topic (which is a warn-able offense.) Oh, and for the record, some people don't LIVE in the US/Japan/Europe, and buying a DS AND games for an affordable price is nearly impossible.

Anyway, I suggest Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure (if you liked the first one), The New Super Mario Bros., Kirby Squeak Squad, and Mario Kart DS. They're great games.

I use R4DS, if you want more info, pm me.

Anyway, good games...Mah Jong Quest, Brain Age 2, Brain Age2 (Choose NO MIC), Mario Party DS (NO mic),

I believe that the PMDs don't need microphones, in case you are interested. I know Ranger doesn't need a mic.

I didn't find StarFoxCommand needing a mic, and that is a good fighting game.

There's actually a pretty good list of them.

New Super Mario Bros: Best mario platformer for a long time.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team: If you play Time and Darkness a lot, then this is a nice break to the original (although it is kinda odd switching between the two, don't ask.)

Animal Crossing: Wild World: Really good sandbox style game.

MegaMan ZX: MegaMan platformers are rare lately, but this one lets you escape to the past.

MegaMan ZX Advent: The sequel to MegaMan ZX, with more content and the abbilitie to turn into bosses!

I'll edit it more when I have more time.

Do the ZX games continue from the Zero series or is it something completely new? I played most of the Zero games, but I don't really remember the stories or anything very much...Should I replay them before trying out the ZX ones?

I've been thinking about Phantom Hourglass...does it use the mic?

Also thinking of the Advance Wars DS game(s?)...

and speaking of Megaman...I might try Star Force too...

My Classmate said he recommends:
The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
I, as well, recommend:
Brain Age 2 (More fun than the original one)
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Elite Beat Agents
Theme Park DS
Apollo Justice, Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney
Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney 2: Justice for All
Upcoming Games:
Guitar Hero: On Tour
dunno what else.

Um, manuel_suplico2, I dunno if you read my first post or not...but I'm asking for non-mic-use games basically...I'm pretty sure Phantom Hourglass, the Ace Attorney games, & Hotel Dusk all use the mic at some point...at least, from what I've heard...and, like I also said, nothing too new, plz, so yeah...no Guitar Hero...how does that even work w/o a guitar controller like the home consoles? Just a finger button rhythm game?? >_> I think I'll pass...

Anyways...I've since gotten a few other games both from suggestions & just from going through the DS's lineup...

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker - Hey, how do Pokemon fans feel about the DQM games, anyways? I've only played the first DQM game on Gameboy, but I've heard mixed things about Joker...But w/e...I'll probably try it out at least...

Advance Wars: Dual Strike - I heard this one is the DS sequel to Black Hole or w/e...so I probably won't play this one until I get through the GBA games...I heard the other Advance War game on DS is a seperate entity though, so maybe I'll get that first...

New Super Mario Bros - Yeah, sure, why not? I don't have a lot of platformers...

I also went through about 1/4 of the released games (including EU & J releases), Wiki'd them to find out gameplay factors and I'm thinking about...

Resident Evil: Deadly Silence - Because I never finished the original (this version includes two versions: one that uses more of the DS capabilities and one more classic version)...I've only ever beaten two RE games, really...4 and...2? 3? Whichever one has that one thing constantly running after you screeching STAAAAAAAARS all creepy-like...

Metroid Prime: Hunters - Because I haven't played any of the Primes and I love the Metroid games and it's been a while since Zero & Fusion and I needs me a Samus fix!!!

Mario & Luigi: Partners In Time - Although I still need to go through Superstar Saga...

Lunar: Dragon Song (or w/e the EU & J name is) - I only ever got to play the GBA version of the first Lunar game and I recall enjoying it. Very nice basic RPG romp, which is right up my alley.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - I found out they haven't ported Lego Batman to the DS and got a little sad, but hey! Now I can play Star Wars 1-6! Sweet!

Geometry Wars Galaxies - Again, why not? I don't have many oldschool shooters either and the gameplay isn't too terrible either! But seriously, handhelds need two analog sticks or something...I don't see how you can develop a home system and then develop a handheld's button configuration so differently...but I guess that's more of a PSP problem >_<

Heroes of Mana - Meh...RTS...I'll probably end up actually playing this last...the characters & story seem ok though I guess...it's kind of nice to see the Seiken Densetsu world again, but in an entirely different way...SO MUCH POINTING & CLICKING!!!!

I got a few suggestions that got me hooked on these games.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, Trials and Tribulations, and Justice for All
Apollo Justice
Yoshi's Island DS
Contra 4
Star Fox Command
Elite Beat Agents

With Phoenix Wright you don't actually have to use the Mic. I have the Microphone on my comp and whenever I use no$gba emulator I don't bother with the Mic. (don't worry I do have a DS I just got the emulator so that way I could play Ace Attorney.) Phantom Hourglass isn't a good idea either, as in the game in order to get past a certain part you have to close the screen which doesn't exist with an Emulator. But maybe you could minimize it though....

Guitar Hero DS isn't that nice as I thought it would be. Sorry. The songs are ugly.

Warioware: Touched is almost a must for a DS owner.

If you like Brain Age, try Professor Layton and the Curious Village. very fun game, challenging to boot.

As for RPGs, there are two I've played that really stand out to me: Etrian Odyssey and Contact.

Etrian Odyssey (which has a sequel coming out soon, as well) is a very old-school style RPG. It has a very in-depth party and skill setup system (You can make several characters, and use up to 5 at a time, you name them, pick which appearance they have, and as they level, choose the skills to get) However, it's EXTREMELY difficult. I mean brutal. Ruthless. The entire premise is that you're exploring a gigantic dungeon (25 spacious floors, with 5 post-game floors), but you have no map, and thus have to draw it on your stylus (as in, when you walk down a hallway, you draw the walls and floors and stuff. No real plot to speak of until about 15 floors down, but it's not the kind of game you play for plot. As I said, however, it's brutally difficult. If you can't stomach hard RPGS (think Final Fantasy 1 NES difficulty) then you might not like it.

The other game is Contact. It's a game developed by several people who worked on Earthbound, as well as Grasshopper Manufacture (The company behind Killer 7 and No More Heroes) It's a modernized action RPG (think Final Fantasy XII's interface) with one of the most fantastic skill systems I've seen. Literally everything has a stat, ranging from weapon skills to your stats to your fame to how easily you can cook. However, it prevents powerleveling, both because it's difficult to raise defense stats (so it's still quite possible to die) and you can't just crack out all your magic, because different skills can only be used based on the clothes you wear.

Other games I've heard good things about, but haven't played myself: Custom Robo Arena and Rune Factory.

Hope you like the suggestions, I went with some of my more obscure titles.

Is Warioware: Touched the one that has the motion sensing thing in the game? Or is that a different Warioware? I enjoyed the Warioware game on GBA.

Thanks! That's exactly the kind of suggestions I'm looking for...I haven't tried the games yet, but they sound great...idk how that map system for Etrian Odyssey sounds though...I don't mind leveling though as long as it's still fun & such...

Basically the map is grid-based, so it's like you're a pawn in a giant chessboard and you have to draw out all the squares on the chessboard. Aside from mapping out paths and walls you can add items such as stairs, item points and other trinkets into your map. It's quite a good game so I second that suggestion, but sometimes you have to level-grind quite a bit and it's sometimes quite tedious.

resident evil dead silence.
it gives you the option to play the regular version. so no touch screen for slashing every now and then.
