I've noticed the Video Games Discussion section is full of SPAMs and undesirable messages. So I've just made this little warning announcement about what kinds of messages are considered a SPAM and how I'll deal with them.

1 - One-sentence messages









These messages are a great example of a SPAM. I've warned loads and loads of times not to do this. We don't like SPAMs, no one does, they are annoying and a waste of time. I'm serious, these messages are driving me nuts, because I have a heart of gold and I don't want to delete people's posts, but from now on I will. I really don't care that you've just became a Pok

I agree with everything Galar said, but to make a note, I've been getting especially sick of the topics that are just the name of a game, and the post is "talk about it." Now that you've all been warned, I hope this won't happen anymore. Any topics like that generate no intelligent discussion and will probably be deleted.

I just edited your post because I know people are lazy to read everything, and my quote in your post would open another page, and people wouldn't read my first post.

If people didn't spam, then mods wouldn't be needed. We're here because people do spam. There are some people out there know that aren't aware of the rules and we're here to enfore them and help people out.

The thing is, some people SPAM because they aren't aware of the rules at all, and that's why we, Moderators, have to enforce the rules by either PMing these users, editing their posts or opening topics like this one to make everyone else's life easier (even though its preety easy to just click on those little links on the top of the Forums page). AND there are some people that ARE aware of the rules, but just keep making the same mistake on and on. These people are warned by Moderators, but sometimes they insist, and when that happens they'll probably get banned of the Forums. I myself had bad experiences with some users on the Forums I moderate, so I was radical and deleted some of their posts (I don't like to do it, but I unfortunately have to).

Because of so much SPAMming in my sections, I have opened two sticky warnings about SPAMs. The result: SPAMming rate decreased a lot, I have noticed. Moderators do have a hard time cleaning SPAMs, and some people don't realise that. We aren't online 24/7, we have an outside life too, so if everyone cooperates with SPAMming as less as they can that would help Moderators a lot, and we would appreciate it even better. That is also one of the reasons why I have opened this topic, to be transparently clear about what kinds of messages, so far, are considered a SPAM, so everyone can avoid posting them.

I wish I could be a moderator. Anyways, back on topic. I think this is a good idea. Telling everybody about spam.

Yes it is spam. A lot of your posts are spam. A lot of them are about to be deleted.

If I find replies to threads that are stupid one-liners devoid of any real thought process, I'm just going to delete them. And if I find a certain person has been doing it in multiple threads (especially in a close timeframe), I'll be issuing warnings.
