Don't listen to much rap but don't exactly hate it either. Will Smith counts as rap right? Cause it he does then the Fresh Prince gets my vote. |

I don't like Rap much, (I don't hate it) but there's someone at my school named Chris Brown. My music teacher says rap isn't music, it's weird rythmatic poetry about weird stuff. I wouldn't dislike it if it was about more clean things a lot more often, but a lot of it is grotesque and not clean. Other than that, I have to agree about Will Smith, he's cool if he counts. |

If the Fresh Prince don't count than nobody counts. Except for everybody other than the Fresh Prince. |

Quote: I wouldn't dislike it if it was about more clean things a lot more often, but a lot of it is grotesque and not clean. oh noes mommy that rapper used a swear word, im covering my ears ;_; But in all seriousness, there's legions of rappers singing about "clean" things, or about serious issues in a "clean" way. Don't dismiss a genre just because you're so sensitive. |

Rap is interesting in a way that you only ever here the controversial stuff unless you actually listen to it. But I guess thats the same with every genre. 'cept maybe country. maybe its because you average country group is pretty conservative, but there just aren't a whole lot of controversial country songs. |

My mom wouldn't let me get a pokemon game til I was 12, doesn't let me watch Family Guy or similar shows, and when I was 7 I thought the word 'butt' was a curse word. Sorry if I seemed a little rude in that post, I mean the rap genre in general is interesting, but it's not usually about a topic that interests me. My favorite music is instrumental, like movie soundtracks and overtures, or something on the radio that carries an easy beat. The poetic beat in rap isn't exactly a 'musical' beat, if you know what I mean. |

I can't stand Lil Wayne, but as much as I hate to admit it Kanye isn't half bad. One of the few more recent rappers that I can actually listen to. |

For rap, I like the rap-rock RATM and Linkin Park, and for pure rap, Jay-Z will always be there for me. And Beastie Boys. And Run-dmc. |

Rap music, in my opinion, is . Most of the songs are about how a guy slapped a woe's arse and other stupid topics. They are barely singing, just saying works quickly. They get paid far to much and set a bad example to children of our current generation. Jagz - |

That's because you listen to manufactured mainstream soulja boy crap. You can't make assumptions based upon that. Old school hip-hop is some of the coolest music out there. There was talent. And good rap is closer to spoken word than singing. You statement is like an opera singer saying modern music is all crap because all they barely sing and have incredibly obvious metaphors. |
