Well, I think I've searched thoroughly and nobody has talked about my absolute favorite series of books yet, so I'll have to do some talking. :D

The Wheel of Time series of books by Robert Jordan consists of eleven books following in the main story, and one prequel sort of book. The twelfth and final book in the series is being written by Brandon Sanderson, with the assistance of Harriet Jordan. This is due to Robert Jordan (whose real name was James Oliver Rigney, Jr., by the way) passing away in 2007, before he was able to complete the book. However, he had outlined the plot completely and selected Mr. Sanderson to complete his series. For more facts, check out the Wikipedia article at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wheel_of_Time.

So now, why do I like these books so much? They have the most intricate plot and storyline of any set of books I have ever read. Jordan knew how to create a world and fill it with complex, diverse characters. Some people say the books get a bit dry at times, but I think they have so many little details in them that one can miss if one doesn't pay close attention, and these people aren't looking for that sort of thing. The series, as I said above, is eleven books long at the moment, and these are not small books. The smallest is around six hundred pages long, with the largest topping one thousand pages (paperback editions in both of those). Jordan certainly had no problem taking his time while writing a story, but once you've read the books, you can think back and you wouldn't be able to cut a page out of all of what you just read. Every bit of the books is important.

I could go into a lot more detail, but I shall not for the time being. The first book in the series is called [u]The Eye of the World[/]. If you like fantasy books and want to check this out, pick that book up at your local bookstore. I'll admit, the series definitely isn't for everyone, and it takes quite a chunk of time to read the entire series. In my opinion, it's totally worth it, and I'll back that up by saying I've read the entire series six times, first book to last book. So yeah, if you think any of that sounds at all interesting, check it out.

That sounds like some good books. I'll look into that after I've read Brisingr, and 2 of Timothy Zahn's sci-fi trilogys.
