I personally think she is a genius. I love her work. The way she writes is quite amazing. I know some of you have string opinions on her. Let me know what you think.

I've never read any of her stuff, but I know enough to stay far away from her books. Glittery vampires and Mary Sues a good story does not make. Still, she makes otherwise illiterate people read, which is always a good thing.

Never read her stuff, but I hear she's good. Stephanie Meyer, who wrote the Twilight books, right? I saw the movie, but Edward was ugly. I knew pokemon could be shiny, but not vampires...*shudders* She jsut wrote those books to pay off her mini-van, anyway. I'm more for other types of Sci-fi like time travel.

In my honest opinion, Meyer is a crap writer. Honestly, sparkly vampires, abusive boyfriends and cannibalistic sirens? What?

The fame and recognition she gets, is more deserving for other authors that actually SPEND time learning how to write.

meh. never read anything by her. The whole Vampire-Fantasy-Romance thing seems more like a bad TV show than a good book. Of course, it is possible that I could be wrong.

I just don't really want to read it. And I never saw Twilight. When I heard about it, the thing that most appealed to me about it was Paramore on the soundtrack.

Vampires are so over done in todays media its sickening. And why are they suddenly so damn sexual, what happened to good old horror vamps like dracula and nosteferu or what ever his name was.

I've read all except the last book of the Twilight saga and... I did like it .

Yup, I liked the book. Jacob really pissed me off in the 3rd book -_-. One's who actually read the book will know why .

But the movie... It totally sucked . They skipped & twisted so many important scenes... Pattinson as Edward was OK but Kirsten Stewart as Belle? Oh geez, she couldn't act at all! I didn't feel the passion between them as I did reading the book.

Meyer, I think she's a good writer, not great, but quite good .

And I saw my sister watching movie, I watched about 2 min, until my eyes begged to stop the torture. Good god the main girl, whatever her name was, was horrible at acting. It was like when they were searching for the role, they had to get a desperate pathetic teen girl that looks like she was on craack.

No, it's nothing bad really, just that writing seemed like an afterthought, in a way, according to what I've heard about why she wrote the books. Not that she's horrible writer, and I haven't read any of her books just seen the movie. When I consider a good writer, I pay more attention to their writing stype, and since I haven't read any of her books, I have no comment on how she writes.

and Nosferatu is essentially just Dracula but with names changed in order to avoid copyright theft.

Not so much as in the later Twilight books. Dracula and Nosferatu were regular horror, and Nosferatu is not the same as Dracula (i.e., Nosferatu doesn't have sound) and they're not sexual.

For those who are saying the main character's a Mary Sue, make sure you read the books first, otherwise your opinion is invalid. Thanks.
