Would you play a game adapted from a movie?

Hehe, no. They tend to be awful, in my experience. Movies made from games have actually been somewhat decent.

When I think of movie video games, two that come to mind as good are Aladdin for SNES or Lion King for Genesis. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention perhaps one of the greatest games ever, 007 GoldenEye adapted from the 17th Bond film of the same name.

Mortal Kombat wasn't bad. I used to do very well on it.

Mortal Kombat was a movie adapted from a game, not the other way around.
Both the SNES and Sega Genesis versions of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: the Movie are fun Final Fight clones even though the SNES version has like nothing at all to do with the movie except for the final boss being the movie's main villain. And the Genesis version is only half about the movie for the first two and last stages, before it slips into an extended flashback to the TV show in the middle of the game for no apparent reason.
