I noticed a lot of youngsters and adults alike here claim the Nintendo 64 as their "childhood console", as well as myself, so I thought I'd make a thread on its behalf.
List memories, games, etc. about the Nintendo 64 era (even though it was more like the PlayStation era >_>)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFxpQK6kG7Q (here's me getting an N64)
FAVORITE GAMES:
3 - Super Mario 64
2 - Banjo Tooie
1 - Donkey Kong 64
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
-1080
-Banjo Kazooie
-Pokemon Stadium 2
-Pokemon Stadium
-Yoshi's Story
-Diddy Kong Racing
-Mario Kart 64
-Rush 2
-Micro Machines
-Super Smash Bros.

Adversity has also said mine minus Smash Bros and Pokemon Stadium (never played them). There is also The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64, Kirby 64, Yoshi's Story, and Banjo Kazooie. Which in my opinion were very good games.

The Nintendo 64 wasn't really my childhood console, the Sega Mega Drive is probably mine (there was nobody better at Sonic than me), but I played the N64 a lot when I went to my best friend's house to hang out after school, or just sleepover the weekend. But I went over to stay so frequently I never had to buy a Nintendo... Until we split up when we went to different high schools. I missed that kid a lot.
The three main games I loved the most were:
Conkey's Bad Fur Day:
Pokemon Stadium 2:
Super Smash Bros.:
I never really cared for the one player games until I bought my own probably a year before I left primary school. But at the time I didn't have the money to buy games - I rented or borrowed them from friends. That's how I came to love Mario 64, Lylat Wars, Zelda, Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64 and all the rest. I don't think I have a favourite, but I'll say Conkey's Bad Fur Day just because I never got bored of it.

#5 Star Fox 64
And many more!

Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros., and the Mario Party series FTW.
Unfortunately, those were the only N64 games I've played and liked. I've played Stadium, Mario Kart 64, and Ocarina of Time and didn't really like them.

I didn't really grow up with the N64, but there is one game that I love that I've never heard anybody mention. It's Star Wars: Battle for Naboo. It was based on The Phantom Menace (ugh), but it had some of the best graphics and gameplay on the system.

I only played 1 game on the N64 & that was Super Mario 64(I played it in the hospital) & Super Smash Bros. on someone else's N64...though that's mostly cause I didn't ever own my own N64, sad really...

!!!!!!!!
1. Super Smash bros: it was perfection and I have never played a video game as enjoyable since its release. This pretty much opened my eyes to the joy of video gaming
2. GoldenEye 007 LAWL @ PICTURE. The first FPS game I ever played and they STILL have it in certain hotel rooms but you have to pay $45 an hour.. GOD
3. Pokemon Sadium 1: The mini games were the best, 'nuff said
4. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: I felt like a super l33t h4x0r when I discovered the cheat codes... good times.. and does anyone know what the hidden tapes were supposed to be for? FFS
5. San Francisco rush 2049: One of the most underrated racing games ever, it was better than Mario Kart and was ages ahead of the competition in graphics/gameplay.
6. DK 64: I still haven't beaten this game.
7. Hydro Thunder: Am I the only one that thought you could only play this game in video game arcades? Who knew boat racing could be so fun.
Notable mentions:
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Star Fox 64
F zero X racing
Mario Kart 64
Paper Mario/Super Mario
1080 Snowboarding
And many more I can't recall

Me and meh friends still play on the N64; I mean, I'd choose Super Smash Bros or Mario Kart 64, over some expensive 1st person shooter any day

I remember when I was a kid my only gaming thing was a GBA. I went to my cousin's house one day and we were playing Pokemon Stadium together. Fun. Then, he pulled out his copy of Orcarina of Time, popped that sucker in, and handed me the controller.
Holy crap.
I was completely drawn in the second I stepped into the Deku Tree. I loved every mintue of it! At my sleepover I made it all the way to the Forest Temple. Yeah. I remember once I mistaked a cow for the Great Fairy. We were laughing so hard. Some time during that visit he showed me his file of the Shadow Temple. Think I got nightmares. Then he showed me the final battle... I was in awe.
Thanks to Virtual Console, I'm playing Oot again. Great memories. I haven't played Majora's yet, but I can't wait.
Other memories were Hey You Pikachu and this basketball game.
