 i can't get my fire red to trade with my emerald, it says it can't trade with trainers in another region yet. what am i supposed to do to fix this

If I'm right then you might need to get both the Ruby and Sapphire (Not games, gems in the game) from One Island and give them to Celio in order to access R/S/E. Hope that helped.
