This is only my second post. Aak! But in my first one, when I wrote an apostrophe or quotation mark... Slashes would appear.

Er, what?
Is this something which keeps recurring? If it has happened just this once, you might be typing so fast that you type in several slashes. After all, the buttons for / ; ' are all pretty close to one another =p

No, no, no, it keeps happening. When I typed the sentence "It's something like this", I didn't put any slashes in it. And I always proofread my posts in fear of making spelling or grammar or phrasing mistakes...

That's rather interesting. The slash is an escape character in coding, and is used to indicate that you actually want the " character, and other similar characters, to be printed, and not evaluated as part of the code. There shouldn't be an issue with this on the forums though. I'll look into it as I get the chance.
