Ok, so I guess I do need to make a thread. I don't know anything about this mIRC business. What do I have to do just to connect to the chats? lol I mean, I'm going to need a step-by-step process; I'm really confused. I downloaded the mIRC program and I don't really know what to do with it or if I even had to. It says I have to pay for it eventually? : ( I don't think I would be able to do that. I don't really know what's going on. |

If you have java, it may just be easier to use the java applet provided (Thank you so much for that, admins!). |

You don't have to pay for mIRC at all. It would like you to, but you're never forced to. Anyway, with mIRC open, you'll be looking at what's called the Status Window. Enter the following commands into it... /server irc.darkmyst.org That command will connect you to the DarkMyst IRC server, where Psypoke's chats are. Once you're connected, pick a nickname.. /nick [insert nickname here] Now, just enter the actual room /join #Psypoke And there you go. Alternatively, you can just use the java applet. Follow the links and instructions for Chats on the main site. |

Heres something I did a while back, I hope it's useful. How to get into the chats: Using the java Client: 1) Go to http://psypokes.com/chats/chats.html 2) Accept any security warnings which come up. 3) To change your nickname, either a) Enter it into the box at the bottom right and hit enter or b) Type /nick yournewnickname Using mIRC: 1) Go to http://www.classicgaming.com/psypoke/chats/mirc.zip and download the file onto your harddrive. 2) Unzip the contents into a folder 3) Double click on the mIRC.exe file to launch mIRC. 4) Enter your forums name into the |
