This was my first favorite pokemon. Drunken Seahorse. I love this thing. Its typing and stats are solid but it SCREAMS for Sp.Wall switch-ins. Sadly, this pokemon isn't too great because of its relative ease in countering it.
Pros
+ Swift Swim
+ One Weakness
+ Awesome Base Stats
+ Can be physical or Special oriented
+ Its a Drunken Seahorse
Cons
- Movepool is very "meh"
- Extremely easy to counter
- Can't really be a mixed pokemon
Counters: Water Pokemon, in general, can counter and set-up on Kingdra relatively easily. Blissey, Regice, Snorlax, Chansey, Groudon & Co.
Kingdra (M) @ Leftovers ** S-Talkdra
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 180 HP / 76 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Sleep Talk
- Rest
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
Best Kingdra Set, imo. Great Starter as it can handle CB Mence then Rest Talk the switch-ins. Hydro Pump > Surf because of the raw power. Hydro Pump does solid damage to most pokemon that switch into Kingdra.
Kingdra (M) @ Salac Berry / Liechi Berry ** Flaildra
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Endure / Substitute
- Flail
- Hidden Power [Ghost] / Hydro Pump
216 EVs to put anywhere. With Hydro Pump, change the nature to a -(Sp.)Def one and put some Evs into Sp.Atk. If you use this in Conjunction with Kyogre, Hydro Pump > Dragon Dance and throw all 216 Evs into Sp.Atk
Kingdra (M) @ Leftovers ** Physdra
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 SAtk
Lonely Nature (+Atk, -Def)
- Dragon Dance
- Hidden Power [Rock / Ground / Fight / Fly]
- Hydro Pump
- Return
Dragon Dance a few times and use Return. The hidden power can help you cover other weaknesses in the team. If using with Kyogre, consider Ice Beam/Rest > Dragon Dance.
Kingdra (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 116 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk / 76 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Rain Dance / Sleep Talk
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass / Electric]
In 202 format, this thing is a GOD. Only Regice can really hold it down. Surf gets STAB and Rain Boost so it can OHKO quite a few pokemon in 202. Swift Swim makes it faster than all pokemon 'cept Timid Electrode, iirc. Milotic can give you problems. Another route is Sleep Talk > Rain Dance to absorb some sleep then dish out high damage regardless.
GREAT on Drizzle Teams. Kingdra also likes Snorlax on its team. Most people will switch in a Water-Type and start Ice Beaming. Throw Snorlax's large butt in the way of the ice and the thick fat will do minimal damage. You'll also want Magneton, Nosepass, and/or Metagross to handle Gengar and Skarmory/Forretress for the physical Kingdra.
---
Try to avoid being reckless with Kingdra. It can take a few hard hitting attacks. A well played Rest could win you the battle later on. Absorbing Sleep is also nice.
A lot of people won't expect Sleep Talk/Hydro Pump and will usually lose a pokemon for that mistake. Kingdra can OHKO a lot.

So True.
However, Kyogre Teams don't need 6 Beam/Surf/Bolt pokemon on them...so..Physical/Flail Kingdra actually serve a purpose...somewhat...
