The Berries Guide First of all, let me point out that this guide is meant to complement the current information about Berries which can already be found on the main site. This guide will consist of two parts, covering the exact locations of the Berries, and the growth of Berries. As such, please refer to the Berry/Pokeblocks Guide and the Emerald Berry Guide for more information regarding Berries. 1. Berry Locations 1.1 In-soil Berries These are the Berries that you can find in-game by picking them from existing Berry plants. They are an invaluable source of Berries, and give out several Berries that can be found nowhere else in the game. Be sure to return daily to collect your Berries from them! The Berry Master Quantity: Two Berries per day Berries Obtainable: Cornn, Grepa, Hondew, Kelpsy, Magost, Nomel, Pomeg, Qualot, Rabuta, Tamato Berry Master's Wife Quantity: One Berry per day Berries Obtainable: Depends on the phrase given. Take note that you can only obtain each of the unique Berries (listed below) once. After that, any phrase will just give you a random Berry. Format: Phrase Given | Berry Name | NOTES ---------------------------------------------------- SUPER HUSTLE | Belue | - GREAT BATTLE | Spelon | - COOL LATIOS | Durin | Must have caught Latios OVERWHELMING LATIAS | Watmel | Must have caught Latias CHALLENGE CONTEST | Pamtre | Must have a Contest Pass 1.3 Berry Givers Aside from Berry plants and the Berry Master and his wife, numerous Trainers in the game also give out Berries, and on a daily basis. Here is a list of where you can find these Trainers, and what Berries are obtainable in this way. Pretty Petal Flower Shop (Route 104) Exact Location: The youngest girl on the right of the inside of the shop Quantity: One Berry per day Berries obtainable: Aspear, Cheri, Chesto, Leppa, Oran, Pecha, Rawst Route 111 Exact Location: Girl found near the loamy soil, to the north of the Old Lady's Rest Stop Quantity: one Berry per day Berries obtainable: Razz Route 114 Exact Location: Girl found directly outside the entrance to Lanette's House Quantity: One Berry per day Berries obtainable: Bluk, Nanab, Pinap, Razz, Wepear Route 120 Exact Location: Girl found near loamy soil, in the bend in the Route, and near to Route 121 Quantity: One Berry per day Berries Obtainable: Depends on the last digit of your ID NUmber, and will change when you mix records. Format: Digit | Berry Name ------------------------------- 0 | Figy 1 | Wiki 2 | Mago 3 | Aguav 4 | Iapapa 5 | Figy 6 | Wiki 7 | Mago 8 | Aguav 9 | Iapapa Lilycove City Exact Location: Man to the north-east of the City, at the top of the hedges Quantity: One Berry per day Berries Obtainable: Aspear, Cheri, Chesto, Leppa, Lum, Oran, Pecha, Persim, Rawst, Sitrus Sootopolis City Exact Location: A girl named Kiri, to the left side of Sootopolis, in a small area accessible by Surfing Quantity: 2 Berries per day Berries Obtainable: Cornn, Figy, Grepa, Hondew, Iapapa, Kelpsy, Magost, Nomel, Pomeg, Qualot, Rabuto, Tamato 2. Berry Growth The above methods can only give you these many Berries. To get more Berries, you will have to grow them in soft, loamy soil which can be found all over Hoenn. 2.1 Growth Stages Berries have six growth stages, namely: 1) Newly planted 2) Seeding 3) Sprouting 4) Growing Taller 5) Blooming 6) Fully grown At the sixth stage, you will be able to pick the Berries thus grown. The time taken for each growth stage is approximately the same. For instance, Cheri Berry takes 12 hours to become fully grown, so it takes approximately 3 hours after planting for the seed to sprout, a further 3 hours to start growing, another 3 hours to bloom, and finally after 3 more hours you will be able to pick up the Berries from the plant. The exact time taken for each Berry's plant to complete its growth will be covered later. 2.2 The Wailmer Pail To get more Berries from a single plant, you will need to use the Wailmer Pail, which can be found in the Pretty Petal Flower Shop on Route 104. It is not known how watering directly affects the growth of additional Berries, so if you want to get more Berries, just water the plant often, and at each stage of its growth. A reasonable watering rate would be once per hour. Take note that the Wailmer Pail does not affect the time required for the plant to complete its growth. 2.3 Growth Details Here is a list of the time required for each Berry plant required to complete its growth, and how many Berries you can obtain from each plant without any watering. Note that the time required are estimates. Format: Berry Name | Time required | Quantity ------------------------------------------------------- Aguav | 24 hours | 2 Apicot | 96 hours | 1 Aspear | 12 hours | 2 Belue | 72 hours | 1 Bluk | 4 hours | 3 Cheri | 12 hours | 2 Chesto | 12 hours | 2 Cornn | 24 hours | 2 Durin | 72 hours | 1 Figy | 24 hours | 2 Ganlon | 96 hours | 1 Grepa | 12 hours | 2 Hondew | 12 hours | 2 Iapapa | 24 hours | 2 Kelpsy | 12 hours | 2 Lansat | 96 hours | 1 Leppa | 16 hours | 2 Liechi | 96 hours | 1 Lum | 48 hours | 2 Mago | 24 hours | 2 Magost | 24 hours | 2 Nanab | 4 hours | 3 Nomel | 24 hours | 2 Oran | 12 hours | 2 Pamtre | 72 hours | 1 Pecha | 12 hours | 2 Persim | 12 hours | 2 Petaya | 96 hours | 1 Pinap | 4 hours | 3 Pomeg | 12 hours | 2 Qualot | 12 hours | 2 Rabuta | 24 hours | 2 Rawst | 12 hours | 2 Razz | 4 hours | 3 Salac | 96 hours | 1 Sitrus | 24 hours | 2 Spelon | 72 hours | 1 Starf | 96 hours | 1 Tamato | 24 hours | 2 Watmel | 72 hours | 1 Wepear | 4 hours | 3 Wiki | 24 hours | 2 --------------------------------------- Have any comments, suggestions, or errors to point out? Feel free to post them here =) |

sN0wBaLL and I just have decided to combine guides (for simplicity reasons). So now it's only one topic you have to look through for the Berry stuff. In a way, Berry Crush is similar to making PokeBlocks for contests. It requires Berries and repeatedly pressing a button. However, the concept is different this time. Instead of trying to boost a Pokemon |

In case you haven't been reading the site news, there's been an update. Using information from this thread, as well as additional information obtained via research by TK, we now have a fully complete Berry Guide with lots more information than before. For all your Berry needs, please refer to the Psypoke Liberry (yay I get the naming rights ;o) here: http://www.psypokes.com/rs/berrystats.php |

As someone who can speak from experience, thank you for putting the time into making this. |

Alas, the Liberry isn't complete yet! I just found out (by pure accident) that you can get the Lum Berry from the Berry Master's wife with the phrase "Cool Contest". I'm going to try some other combinations as I can, to see if any other contest ones give results. |

Not really. If I'm not wrong Lum Berry is among those "random" ones that you can get from the Berry Master's Wife. Meaning, should someone else try the same phrase as you, he/she might not get a Lum Berry. |

Mmm, okay, I just read the section of this guide on the berry master's wife. Seems I spoke too soon. And I guess I got lucky with my randomness! |

I think you have the lum berry planting time wrong. Last time I planted one it took 3 days. I think telling the Berry Master's wife Going Ghost gives you a random berry. |

Meeps wrote: I think you have the lum berry planting time wrong. Last time I planted one it took 3 days. Hmm? Well I don't have time to verify that now, so if anyone else would like to verify that I would appreciate it =) Quote: I think telling the Berry Master's wife Going Ghost gives you a random berry. Yes of course. Aside from the five special phrases listed, all other phrases give random berries. |

Lol, mega bump I thought that I was just seeing things, but no. Either there is an error in this guide, or things changed for transition to diamond/pearl I got 5 starf berries from a single lone plant. Explanation? The Guide wrote: Starf | 96 hours | 1 And anyway the above doesn't make sense - if you are planting a berry for 96 hours, why would you only get 1? I'd think you get at least 2. |

Because the quantities displayed are that for which you have not done any watering, and not the maximum obtainable. Rarer berries only yield one without watering, thus it is imperative that you water them so that you don't go back to square one. |

Also, the rare berries (Including Starf, Enigma, etc.) are easier to grow in DP. I remember having to water 100 times an hour just to get 2+ Spelons berries from a plant in Ruby. (which aren't even as rare as the others). In DP, i've filled Sinnoh with the Starf, Lansat, Ganlon, etc. and gotten 5 from every plant quite a few times (Though it was very hard to water them 10 times, twice a day for like 4 days) |

The unique phrases that you can say to the Berry Master's wife only work that once, so yes you do have to trade from another game to obtain a Spelon Berry. |

i dont know if you consider this 'cheating' or not, but rather than plant and grow berries, i cloned them in massive quantities in emerald version. It helped a lot with berries that i needed. |

Berries are the one item that is hardest to grow. Cloning makes it easier. Way to go, Ryder! |

Berries are the ONLY items you can grow. (In R/S/E) |
