Complaint - Question threads

Just a quick voicing of opinion.
I absolutely hate the idea that you guys want ALL questions in one thread in all of the different generations forums. Personally, the most important threads should be the questions and not the random banters and polls about your favourite Pokemon or whether you like gold better than silver. Right now having all the questions in one thread makes at least these three problems, if not more:
1) A single thread gets humungous and impossible to manage easily.
2) If you were to have everything separate would allow people to browse them easier and, hence, prevent questions from getting repeated over and over again (it's happened. you know it). It also prevents mix-ups for answers which happen all the time right now.
3) it prevents a detailed discussion of the matter.
Most of these forums are so inactive it wouldn't really be much of a bother to have threads for each questions. If you guys were to, perhaps, actually maintain the questions threads (like, perhaps, every few months or so look over it and preen it into a separate FAQ locked-sticky or you know, actually make it readable) I'd understand. But right now your treatment of any sort of help-seeking people is "you, with the question, no matter what it is: go put this question in the n00b thread where it will be lost and be re-asked again and again." And that kind of drives me away, I don't know about anyone else.
Frankly, it's a little demeaning and outright stupid. It prevents proper discussion of certain things, and the only difference some threads have for others is one way is put into a question and the other is put into a discussion-conversation tone. Why is it that threads are judged based on the existence of a question mark (?) at the end of any of their sentences?
And yes. I called someone who decided that rule stupid. Sorry, but I'm not taking that insult back. It's merely an opinion so you shouldn't take it personally, anyways. It's just, this rule prevents more communication and enjoyment of this site than it encourages.
And, when you make question threads all individual, you can delete double-post questions and stupid questions much easier without it disrupting any other people having different conversations. So really, this SHOULD be a win-win: we get easier browse-ability and readability, whilst you guys see more action and activity and also you guys can moderate the forums easier, weeding out the stupid or redundant questions.
I hope some others agree with me on this, and I wouldn't mind some good debating either.

Awwwww, that's cute. You actually think the common drivel that floods these forums is "proper discussion."
No, we are not turning these forums into nothing but 4000 different threads of people asking the same questions. That way, in the rare event that someone actually has something legitimately worth discussing, it doesn't get drowned out by so many duplicate threads.

duplicate threads merely means either:
your audience is entirely idiots. you wouldn't dare call everyone on this site an idiot, would you?
or you mods aren't doing their jobs.
Come on, now.

Your own ARGUMENT accounts for duplication - hell you bring it up MULTIPLE times.
And why should I lie to people and tell them they're intelligent when they aren't?
And our mods are doing their jobs - putting all the questions into one easy to manage, easy to read location. If you can't be bothered to read half a page worth of questions over 7 days, why should any of us work any harder to accommodate your laziness?

Easy to manage? readable?
Look at the DPP questions threads. It's 79 PAGES LONG. Who has time to read 79 PAGES??? I certainly don't. And half of those questions are either doubled in some way or the same question put a slightly different way or it's already mentioned in the walkthrough/etc on the main site. And YOU try figuring out which answers go with which questions. Half the time the answer is "yes" but they don't quote the question so you have no idea.
79 pages. you call that good maintenance? you call that easy to sort through? not only do you need a massive amount of TIME to get through it all, it's very likely you'd miss something since you're trying to scan 79 PAGES.
I bet if one of you actually gave a hoot, you could preen it down to an easy-to-read 5 or so pages if you were to type it up as a FAQ.
And that's not only the DPP forum either - RSE question thread - 51 pages. HGSS is @ 5 and it's only been out a few weeks in North America.
The previous game series forums don't have a questions thread, and they don't seem like they're clogged or anything.
Either fix the questions thread, make a FAQ, or allow questions elsewhere. Otherwise, no, you're not doing a good enough job. Sorry, but nobody's going to read 79 pages... 51, even.

Who the hell would be stupid enough to read all 79 pages? If you ask a question, you should know what page it's on. If you want to ask a question, but actually want to look and see if someone else has asked it already (pro-tip, less than a fraction of a percent of the users on this forum or anywhere else on the internet are intelligent or thoughtful enough to do so and would rather expect someone else to look something up than do it themselves), then use the search feature - that's why it's there! If you're trying to read 79 pages of questions and answers just because you want to, then you're an idiot.
Those question threads exist for one purpose - to keep the overwhelming number of "HOWE I DO DIS TING IN DA GAMEZ!?!" threads down to one. One thread where people who are too lazy and to ignorant to use all the resources this website provides them with to find the answer, so that the rest of us can simply ignore its existence and worry about all the other topics.
In the rare event a user actually brings up a legitimate unanswered question, it gets worked into the website.
So no, for the last time, no one is changing anything. The way it is now is the way that it works, because it's the only way it works without ridiculous expectations.

I like the Questions thread, it answers simple questions, and if anything of discussion value comes out of them, they topics are almost always split into a new topic anyway.
But - I'm proposing a RMT subforum? This way you get advice from more people as well as providing discussion centralising around your team? Maybe? (soz for hijack)

This is two separate ideas that have worked in different contexts on other forums, and I would like to interject them here because it seems that it could be helpful. Speaking from experience, it truly can be annoying to search for your question amidst such a staggering amount of replies, and these could clean it up easily.
The first is to organize all of the answers in some fashion on the first post. I know that links can work wonders, there has to be a way to link to all of the answers from that same topic (after it was closed) for direct reference. (I guess it would be a Q&A for each gen, in that fashion.)
The second idea is to post a second topic with the answers so far linked to possibly, or a direct reference to some kind of guide in the old topic (see above). That way it would not be so intimidating until new members weren't thorough enough in their search...
Just a suggestion. Hope I didn't step out of line...
