I think it was intended in all honesty. It would make sense. There aren't a lot of pokemon with that kind of dorky-cute design. I would expect to see more pokemon with this flavour of design in these next two games.

Personally, I plan on waiting to see what the final evolutions look like before I finalize my starter for Sun and Moon. I mean, I was gonna go with Fennekin for X and Y, but I liked Greninja better.

i haven't seen them yet or will i until sun and moon are out, but frost always had a great taste in pokemon.

I think Bewear gives a strong "Pedo Bear" vibe - at least, it does to me. The concept that it breaks everything it "hugs", the fact that people are inherently terrified of it, the cutesie face combined with the type of body that's perfect for sneaking up on someone in the darkness of night, and the dead eyes just shouts that kind of danger out to me.

I also think that the fact that they've successfully created a car battery pokémon is interesting inandof itself, and its design and behavior meshes well with the logical behavioral patterns that could be expected of something like a Vikavolt.

Speaking of Cutiefly, I kinda want to call it Squats.
