Every so often, when I attempt to open any page on Psypoke, it redirects me to a Gamespy Advertisement, and usually, I simply click the "Continue to Psypoke" link, but several times now, if I click that link, it starts loading the page, then simply redirects me back to the adverisment. So then, I let the adverisment play, then wait for it to redirect me on it's own. But that doesn't work, usually, so I normally just leave the computer and come back later. But this time, that didn't work, so I tried clearing the cache, and turned off Java, and finally, the page loaded. What exactly is happening here?

It gets stuck in an infinite loop sometimes for me also, when I use Safari. If it happens, I switch to using Firefox, which always works. I have no idea why it happens exactly, but that seems to fix it. Bugs the hell out of me, though, because then all the new post symbols have been cleared, and I have to figure out what the new posts in the sections I read are manually.

It happens some times. It's a bug in GameSpy's advertising service; there's nothing we can do about it. Generally, the "infinite loop" doesn't last more than 2 or 3 advertisements. That's the most I've heard anyone actually count, at least.
I'm afraid you'll have to live with it. It is worth noting that with Firefox, I don't ever actually SEE the ad, and it's never done more than 2 in a row to me, and even that's only happened once.

I've counted 50+ in a row while using Safari; with Firefox, I don't think I've ever had more than one.
Edit: Okay, to clarify, that was 50+ in a row trying to go from one page to the next; IE, a jump of a single page, or just trying to get to the forum index initially.

i think its random, clicking on any link could give you a ad
then when you click the "skip ad" link, youre just clicking on the same link you just clicked so theres a small possibility you get another ad....its theoretically possibile for this loop to be infinite

Replace "small chance" with "very large chance" and I'd agree with you.

Okay, so an infinite loop is possible, it seems. That concludes this issue, so stop speculating.
In the meantime, get Firefox and its adblock or get a good firewall to block it all off.
