Can't release Pokemon...?

 I accidentally clicked on release... it was on a lv. 34 Tentacool, nothing special about it (btw it's Emerald Version) so I tried to release the pokemon I was actually going to release (which was a lv. 3 Zigzagoon) and it got released... but when I tried releasing that Tentacool again, it didn't work.. it says, "Tentacool was released (and the little sprite disappears)" the the sprite reappears and says "......! Tentacool returned, was it worried about you?" or something like that...

Btw, I just want to know any suggestions or anything like that... because it's creeping me out...
