As the days go by, I am gradually hating technology. Lately my computer has been screwing up more than usual. I can't rename Icons on my desktop, i tried to delete notepad from my desktop, and now it's got the "are you sure?" message, and it wont go away! I am good with computers an all, But this confuses me to no end. I'm going to reboot my computer, but i figured I'd post this first. I realize i'm probably posting this in the wrong thread.

That really just sounds like a virus of some sort, but I'm not very computer literate, so I'm not sure.

Sounds like a typical virus/malware infection. Probably a Vundo variant, but it could be anything. For starters, download MBAM and install that. Then update it and set it to run a full scan. Remove everything it finds.
Of course, most modern infections conveniently block your ability to download things like MBAM, so if you need a workaround, post back.

If that's the case then your best bet is going to be using HijackThis, both the program and the community behind it, to try to isolate and remove any rogue elements that may be causing this. Don't just start deleting things with the program, post your logs to have them analyzed. Misuse of the program can completely screw up your computer.
You can read more here.
If that still turns up no results, you're either up against a serious infection which you should take to a professional, or a possible hardware issue.
