EDIT: 18 May 2014 Sorry I couldn't run this guys, I'm still quite busy but I am back home now so I think the least I can do is refund everyone's Psybucks back. I'm not sure when this will happen but I'll have to go through the logs, but I hope this will happen soon. Thank you everyone for the interest, and a bit of a shame I couldn't spare time to get this off the ground. *Credit goes to LightningCharm for the base image. The format:
Following the success of the first bout, the second BATTLE ROYALE will consist of Pokemon #109-251 on the chart, as determined on the Pokedex. Selected Pokemon would be pit against one another in a fight to the death, and if they get through all the rounds... they will be the CHAMPION, still alive after defeating everyone else, and will be crowned the second BATTLE ROYALE champion. It is an honour like no other. A contest that takes more than just looks and strength into account, its all about winning over the crowd! Do you have have it takes to train up a champion? Hey everyone, The last season of Battle Royale I thought was a big success so hopefully we can re-achieve those levels with the brand spanking new season 2! This season will feature Pokemon #109-251, and with this field being a lot deeper (featuring starters, eeveeulutions, legendaries and more cute Pokemon), this is set to be one unpredictable competition! Hopefully a lot of you will know how it works, but if not don't be afraid to look at the old thread and/or PM me. I'll also be explaining it as we go along, as there will be a few minor things that will change. As per last time, first off, we'll be running the preliminary rounds! PRELIMINARIES: The competing 142 Pokemon are placed randomly into 11 groups of 13 (with one group having 12 members). The top 5 ranked Pokemon in each group will gain direct entrance into the maindraw. There will be an additional 5 Wildcard entrants, 2 Host's Discretion spots and 2 randomised spots, making a total of 64 spots for the knockout phases of the Battle Royale! The voting format for the preliminaries will be: 5. (Most preferred) 4. 3. 2. 1. (Encouraged) You can also put in reasons on how you ranked the Pokemon, but this isn't compulsory. I will then add all the values up and the top 5 will automatically go through to the next stage. Those that just miss the cutoff will be eligible for Wildcard selections, and in case of a draw I will decide who will go through based on my own personal preferences. So without further ado: the first two groups! GROUP 1Lugia | Typhlosion | Aerodactyl | Raikou | Elekid | Quilava | Wooper | Rhyhorn | Hoothoot | Furret | Togepi | Octillery | Cleffa GROUP 2Pinsir | Suicune | Mantine | Gligar | Murkrow | Scyther | Omanyte | Aipom | Mareep | Kingdra | Phanpy | Houndoom | Cyndaquil These groups will typically be open for 2-3 days each. Unfortunately this time around I won't be handing out Psybucks for voting in the Prelim stages, but it's fun to do anyway (even just for ranting purposes) so I'd encourage everyone to have a go! As per usual I am always more than happy to answer questions. Thanks, and happy rating!

Group 1: 5. - My favourite starter and my second favourite fire types. 4. - I have always liked the legendary trio of Johto. 3. - One of my favourite electric types. 2. - Pretty cool water type. 1. - Best of the remaining. Group 2: 5. - Same reason as Typhlosion. 4. - My second favourite dragon type. 3. - Evolves into my favourite electric type. 2. - Same as Raikou. 1. - Best of the remaining. Hope I did this right. Looking forward to this. Will we be sponsoring again?

Group Numero Uno: 5. Quilava 4. Octillery 3. Rhyhorn 2. Aerodactyl 1. Sentret
Group Numero Dos: 5. Scyther 4. Mantine 3. Phanpy 2. Houndoom 1. Cyndaquil
A lot of these Pokemon have appealed to me for various reasons throughout my experience with the show and anime. Either their looks (adorable or cool ones, obvi), their stories, or in Phanpy's case, their cries, make me like each one for various reasons. I liked Lugia's sprite that was shown here, which made me REALLY want to put it, but I figured there would be enough people voting for legends that I would try to avoid them and get some other faces past prelims.
EDIT: Fixed the numbering system.

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far Quote: Looking forward to this. Will we be sponsoring again? Yes!! Once again sponsorship will open after the 64 spots are filled up. Quote: Group 1:
1. Aerodactyl ~Awesome Dragon 2. Furret ~He's nice 3. Raikou ~Maybe... 4. Typhlosion ~Hmm... 5. Rhyhorn ~Last one Thanks for your votes! Just in future can you use this format: 5. Aerodactyl ~Awesome Dragon 4. Furret ~He's nice 3. Raikou ~Maybe... 2. Typhlosion ~Hmm... 1. Rhyhorn ~Last one Quote: Group Numero Uno: 1. Quilava 2. Octillery 3. Rhyhorn 4. Aerodactyl 5. Sentret Can you just confirm that Quilava is your #1 pick (most preferred), and also I'll be counting your #5 as Furret. Also as noted last time I'll be opening a spot for co-host. As a co-host you'll be helping me run the competition, which will involve a number of writeups and votes management. I'll have an application form out in the next post, but if you do get the job you won't be able to play the actual knockout phases (however, you may still vote in the prelim rounds). So if you're interested just fill out the form and let me know, the next batch should be out within 2 days.

I missed this soo much! G1: 5. - I said after the last one that I'd vote for legendaries just to piss off DragoBoy. I couldn't resist! That, and of course... I F*****G LOVE LUGIA!!! 4. - I like Typh! I can respect him since the other two they threw at me I didn't like, with Totodile looking like a mental ward escapee and all. 3. - One of my childhood memories is of Hoothoot in the anime. I can't recall the exact episode, but it had to do with a plane. 2. - It's typingwait, no... It's existence intrigues me! 1. - Meh. G2: 5. - (see Lugia's reason) 4. - ITZ SOO CUTE!!! OH MY G- *head explodes* 3. - One of a few bugs I consider on my 'like list'. 2. - I guess it's okay... 1. - (see above)

Do you have to vote for five? Couldn't we vote for one or two if we can't decide on anything else?

I would prefer it if the 5-4-3-2-1 method was used, mainly for consistency's sake.

Thanks once again to everyone who voted: here are the results for Groups 1 & 2! GROUP 113 - Aerodactyl QUALIFIED11 - Typhlosion QUALIFIED9 - Rhyhorn QUALIFIED8 - Raikou QUALIFIED7 - Quilava QUALIFIED7 - Furret 6 - Octillery 6 - Elekid 5 - Lugia 3 - Hoothoot 0 - Wooper 0 - Togepi 0 - Cleffa Aerodactyl swoops in to take out the group in a convincing win, beating out Psypoke Idol winner Typhlosion, who will no doubt be a heavy favourite in the competition. Somewhat surprisingly, Rhyhorn also managed to place in the top 3, beating out Raikou, one of the legendary dogs. The last spot was down to Quilava and Furret: even though this competition has been notorious for highlighting underrated Pokemon by giving them a spotlight to shine, I'm sending through Quilava as he is one of my favourite Johto Pokemon. I can't simply just deny him a spot! Don't fret Furret fans though: he'll almost be guaranteed a reappearance in the Wildcard round. But the big news has to be: Silver mascot and general favourite Lugia missing the main draw completely! What is this? Could this be another competition full of big upsets? QUALIFYING: GROUP 2
16 - Scyther QUALIFIED13 - Kingdra QUALIFIED8 - Suicune QUALIFIED7 - Mantine QUALIFIED6 - Cyndaquil QUALIFIED6 - Houndoom 5 - Mareep 4 - Murkrow 3 - Pinsir 3 - Phanpy 0 - Gligar 0 - Omanyte 0 - Aipom It's a good day for me: my top two favourite Pokemon in this group Scyther and Kingdra safely advanced, along with Crystal version's Suicune making the top 3. The big friendly Mantine also managed a spot in the qualification round, making water Pokemon representing 3 out of the top 5. And once again, we have a tiebreaker! Two fire types in Cyndaquil and Houndoom. Despite me running a Houndoom in my Platinum game, once again I refuse to take off my nostalgia goggles and give the nod to Cyndaquil, which makes the complete family in the maindraw. Is this starting to resemble the Charmander family in the first Battle Royale? Only one way to find out: onwards! QUALIFYING: GROUP 3Entei | Smoochum | Hoppip | Starmie | Xatu | Jynx | Skiploom | Pichu | Bayleef | Shuckle | Sentret | Eevee | Horsea GROUP 4Houndour | Stantler | Ursaring | Chansey | Jolteon | Forretress | Larvitar | Zapdos | Lanturn | Ho-Oh | Mew | Vaporeon | Igglybuff These groups will typically be open for 2-3 days each. Unfortunately this time around I won't be handing out Psybucks for voting in the Prelim stages, but it's fun to do anyway (even just for ranting purposes) so I'd encourage everyone to have a go! As per usual I am always more than happy to answer questions. Just remember the voting format is: 5. (most preferred) 4. 3. 2. 1. Thanks, and happy rating! PS: Hosting application form Just answer these questions and PM them to me before I reveal the Wildcard group (I will remind you). Code: 1. Are you able to consistently make posts? 2. The next battle will be between Ninetales, Dugtrio, Blastoise and Wigglytuff. Psych the crowd up! 3. Unexpectedly, Treecko beat Latios to make it into the Semifinals. Draw up a report. Just look at my old thread for ideas and stuff but basically what I'm just looking for is great writing ideas. Don't have to be too long, 3-4 sentences or whatever you feel is appropriate.

Woohoo, a new Battle Royale!
Too bad that I didn't jump in soon enough for the first round. :\
Well, anyway, here's my votes for the next set of groups.
Group 3
5. Xatu - I've always thought it looked cool and Magic Bounce packs a punch in competitive battling. 4. Skiploom - I love the Jumpluff line, and I'm hoping this little guy can cause an upset. ;D 3. Starmie - Pretty cool, I used one once. 2. Bayleef - Never a huge fan of Bayleef and it's line in general, but I'm hoping to offset the fire starters again! *shakes fist* 1. Horsea - A cute little guy, I caught one on Christmas in a Nuzlocke and named it Emmanuel.
Group 4
5. Vaporeon - I had a Vaporeon named Horatio on my final FireRed Nuzlocke which was most likely the strongest member on my team. 4. Forretress - Nearly every one of my competitive battling teams has one of these guys on them. 3. Chansey - Chansey dance, Chansey dance! 2. Lanturn - Kinda cool... I guess. 1. Stantler - Whatever.

Group 3: 5. - My favourite fire type and it is one of the legendary dogs. 4. - Probably one of my favourite normal types. 3. - Best of the remaining. 2. - See above. 1. - See above. Group 4: 5. - I've been fond of Lanturn ever since I started using one competitively. 4. - Best of the remaining. 3. - See above. 2. - See above. 1. - See above. Really, except for Entei and Lanturn, I'm not to fond of these groups.

Once again thankyou to everyone who has voted! I'll now tally the results. GROUP 3 22 - Shuckle QUALIFIED19 - Starmie QUALIFIED18 - Eevee QUALIFIED17 - Bayleef QUALIFIED17 - Xatu QUALIFIED14 - Entei Wildcard6 - Horsea 5 - Sentret 5 - Pichu 5 - Jynx 4 - Skiploom 3 - Hoppip 0 - Smoochum Okay I wouldn't have expected this ever, but Shuckle tops this group, amassing 22 votes, the highest of the competition so far. Last year's semifinalist Shuckle-rock$, who sponsored Charizard, won't be too upset about this! Speedy versatile sweeper/spinner Starmie came in second, and the cute little Eevee managed third. Bayleef, to my relief, qualified (he is my favourite grass starter..) and Xatu rounded out the top 5. The qualifying round wasn't too kind to Entei though, who will have to see if he can sneak into the maindraw in the Wildcard rounds. Other than this, there were no major upsets with the top 6 spots more or less expected anyway. QUALIFYING: GROUP 4 21 - Mew QUALIFIED20 - Lanturn QUALIFIED20 - Zapdos QUALIFIED14 - Forretress QUALIFIED13 - Vaporeon QUALIFIED10 - Larvitar Wildcard8 - Ursaring 7 - Houndour 7 - Ho-Oh 6 - Jolteon 6 - Stantler 4 - Chansey 0 - Igglybuff To nobody's surprise, Mew takes the top of the chain in group 4, however it was a close one with only 1 vote separating him from second placed electrics Lanturn and Zapdos. The two rank in my favourites, especially Lanturn, so I'm hoping they'll go far! Forretress takes out fourth place, whilst Vaporeon came in fifth. Interestingly enough, Jolteon was also in this group, but polled 7 less votes than this elemental twin - I thought the two would qualify easily. Other upsets included: HeartGold mascot Ho-Oh relegated to the same fate as Lugia before him, and Psypoke popular staple Chansey came 12th/13. QUALIFYING: GROUP 5Seadra | Hitmontop | Seaking | Heracross | Articuno | Flaafy | Porygon | Tangela | Chikorita | Bellossom | Quagsire | Macargo | Gyarados GROUP 6Meganium | Donphan | Lapras | Omastar | Rhydon | Sneasel | Ampharos | Noctowl | Girafarig | Staryu | Marill | Wobbuffet | Qwilfish These groups will typically be open for 2-3 days each. PS: I don't mind if you use sprites/mini icons or simply names, either or is fine Once again thanks for voting in the prelim rounds, I know its not as fun or suspenseful as the knockout rounds but I do need to somehow cull 142 Pokemon down to 64.

Group 5: 5. - Evolves into my favourite electric type. 4. - One of my favourite fighting types. 3. - Who doesn't like Porygon at least a little? 2. - This one makes breeding go so much faster for me. 1. - Best of the remaining. Group 6: 5. - My favourite electric type. 4. - One of my favourite groud types. 3. - Evolves into my favourite ice type. 2. - Best of the remaining. 1. - See above. Just an FYI, but you have Flaaffy misspelt.
