Edit - to thoes that don't know, I live in oklahoma and I'm fine
Been meaning to post this for a while
Busy due to volunteering for the cleanup
As you know there were quite a few tornados during Sunday-Tuesday
On Sunday there was a tornado literally eight miles south of my house, over lake thunderbird (implying you guys know where it is) The whole time my family was debating weather to go to our neighbors house (their house is literally built into the ground, like a hobbit hole) the rain was heavy and it was hailing for about 40 minutes
The hail was the size of oranges (I got a few, will try to post pics later)
I stupidly went out and got a few, then on my way back I got pelted by one of the oranges, hurt like hail (get it hail-hell?! I'm so funny)
That was Sunday
Monday morning, the sun was up and everything was fine
During the last hour of classes (2:01 - 3:02 tornado forms at about 2:49) The tornado sirens went off (at 2:30)and immediately we had to stop everything that we were doing (which was nothing, senior year notcaring.jpg) and sit by one of the foundation walls in the classroom
Me sitting next to a bunch of friends decide to be all like "forget that I'm leaving" the moment it hits 3:02
We hear about the tornado
Nope.jpg
So then we get bored, end up playing peasant, ****, and threes
Lights go out at about 3:20
Phoneasaflashlight.jpg
Continue playing in the dark till about 3:50
They finally let us go out in the halls at 4:20
My phone is dead due to the fact I used it as a flash light
Trying to use someone's phone to call parents (No car)
Busses are not running due to traffic
People are yelling and crying because they can't get a hold of their parents
Cell phone towers are out
Walking in the dark
Someone yells to get to the commons (cafeteria)
I get there, haven't seen light in a while
Big window to the courtyard, leaves, branches, paper, and even articles of clothing are strewn about
About three thousand students in there
Principal with a megaphone starts calling names
Names of people whose parents are there to pick you up
It's about 4:30 now
He's calling them one by one
Thiswilltakeforever.jpg
It does
forget it, tries to find parents at the front of the commons
I find them
We leave not caring about other people
Stepdad parks 6 blocks down because it's the only parking spot there
We walk
Looking around I see mud, dirt, paper, strewn about
The school is a mess

I look at the street, going to the tornado line of death is full of traffic
Going away, clear as day
Keep walking, I see an ambulance has to drive on the other side of the road just to get somewhere
Forgetthatiwanttogethome.jpg
I get home about 6:00
Eat, piss, sleep
Next day, comeback and volunteer the cleanup crew

So that's my story
Not really something to tell the kids but w/e
