13. 14. 15. 16. I can't believe that I missed the last round. Why is Snubbull so popular?

FINAL SCOREBOARD M13: +6 | +1 | +1 | +4 M14: +3 | +6 | +8 | +0 M15: +2 | +3 | +4 | +3 M16: +3 | +7 | +0 | +4 And then: the anonymous votes! +5 +4 +10 +10 +10 (even moreso) FINAL RESULTS M13: MEGANIUM def. Kabutops / [11] Kingdra / Mantine (14-10-1-1) M14: [6] TYRANITAR def. Ditto / Pineco / Feraligatr (18-11-3-0) M15: MAGIKARP def. Blissey / Bayleef / [3] Scizor (4-3-3-2) M16: [15] SCYTHER def. Forretress / Ariados / Kangaskhan (14-7-3-0) So a ton of upsets (YET AGAIN) as Meganium just came out of nowhere and gave the contested-over Kabutops a good beatdown. Who knew the Grass starter had so many lurking fans? Tyranitar too storms home, although it did look like for a while Ditto was going to get over the line. MAGIKARP of all Pokemon dispatches the 3rd seed Scizor (R A N D O M) whilst I was so sure my personal favourite Scyther was going to drop out, he is saved! Bad luck to Forretress who I thought would have been an equally deserving winner. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING POKEMON Your final 16 remaining out of 108! Also congratulations to their sponsors, for their support and coaching skills! Surely without them, these Pokemon would not have been able to overcome adversaries to come out victorious! Shuckle - DragoBoy Houndoom Espeon - Eeveelution-Master Porygon - Wailord_2 Eevee - Eeveelution-Master Flareon - mudkip mistress Steelix - JsXtm Dragonite - JsXtm Aerodactyl - twistedturtwig Politoed - twistedturtwig Mewtwo - mudkip mistress Snubbull - mudkip mistress Meganium - GhostPony750 Tyranitar - DragoBoy Magikarp - Joe the Conqueror Scyther SCHEDULE OF PLAY: ROUND 2 M1: Shuckle v Houndoom M2: Espeon v Porygon M3: Eevee v Flareon M4: Steelix v [4] Dragonite M5: [10] Aerodactyl v Politoed M6: [2] Mewtwo v Snubbull M7: Meganium v [6] Tyranitar M8: Magikarp v [15] Scyther However... before Round 2 starts, we need a sponsor for HOUNDOOM and SCYTHER! Sponsoring is only open to those who do not currently have a Pokemon to mentor. (ie, sponsoring is not an option for DragoBoy, Eeveelution-Master, Wailord_2, mudkip mistress, JsXtm, twistedturtwig, GhostPony750 and Joe the Conqueror). Everyone else is free to play! Place your bids on him (similar to how we ran it in the first week). Bidding will start at 0PB. If you don't pay before the round starts, the bid drops to the next available sponsor... and so on. There is no maximum increase. You must post your bid in this thread only, ie, no PMs (for now anyway). I'll probably run it for a few days, but I'll let everyone know when there are 24 hours left. (Probably by Tuesday morning my time). Also you can use this thread in the meantime to further discuss your draw! Are you threatened by your matchups? Are you somewhat relieved its now head to head battles rather than 1 Vs 3 like in the first round? And with the alarming rate of upsets in the first round, who do you think is the new expected winner of the second BATTLE ROYALE? And who will walk away with the 3,000 GRAND PRIZE? NEW: TIPPING COMPETITION! Before the round 2 matches start, put down who you think will qualify for the next round. You must put down all Round2 matches at once, ie, M1-M8 all in one post. And of you have edited your post you will not be eligible for prizes/placement on the leaderboard. Winner of the tipping competition will win 500PB! More info will be provided upon request. Also I will reveal the winner of last year's tipping competition in an upcoming post! (Because I realised I never got around to it).

Omg Meganium, you did well! Quote: However... before Round 2 starts, we need a sponsor for HOUNDOOM and SCYTHER! I'm sponsoring Meganium actually. And now I don't understand what to do. I'll wait for others to reply.

After seeing these results, all I have to say is: Magikarp.
And that is all.

Ok just to clarify a few things: GhostPony750 wrote: Omg Meganium, you did well! Quote: However... before Round 2 starts, we need a sponsor for HOUNDOOM and SCYTHER! And now I don't understand what to do. I'll wait for others to reply. What I meant was that because you've already sponsored Meganium, you can't try to sponsor Houndoom or Scyther. GP, you realize that you can't bid for Scyther, right? You already have a Pokemon that made it through (Meganium, grumble grumble), so you're not allowed to sponsor one of the two remaining to be sponsored. James however, is fine, since he has no remaining Pokemon. Sorry!

Anyway: So I still stand with Scyther at 70 PB.

Probably should've mentioned this when it happened, but SPONSORSHIP BIDDING HAS ENDED! Houndoom is being sponsored by Dare234 (100 PB)! Scyther is being sponsored by James86134 (70 PB)!

OK sorry just had some personal issues at my end, but I hope we can start Round 2 matches tomorrow! Here's how it will work (Yes I did just copy this from the Battle Royale 1 thread): ROUND 2 EXAMPLE Making the transition from 3 v 1 to 1 v 1, there's a couple of rule changes just to ease in some field effects. MODIFIER 1: Type advantages With the two Pokemon facing off, the Pokemon with a type advantage will receive a +1 boost. If a Pokemon has an immunity, the advantage will be +2. So for Charizard V Bellosom, Charizard will receive +1. Charizard V Sandslash, Charizard will receive +2. Double resistances and double weaknesses don't count in these scenarios. If it's a match between, say, Charizard and Cradily, Cradily will receive the +1 advantage as he has the most advantage coming into the match. (Typically I will figure this out). MODIFIER 2: Base stats We're really just going to be easing into Base Stats in round 2, so the only stats we'll be looking at is ATK, DEF and SPD. It's pretty straightforward, the Pokemon with the higher Base stat will get the +1 advantage. In later rounds, we'll be incorporating all the stats, but for now this is a good segueway into Round 2. MODIFIER 3: Abilities Certain abilities will also play a factor. Eg: We've seen the Levitate example in the previous round, but abilities such as Pure Power will give ATK x2 and Intimidate will cut ATK by x.75. These calculations will usually affect Modifier 2, so don't expect these abilities to have that much influence. MODIFIER 4: Type resistances Before the 48 hour countdown, I will say "The arena is hit by a XXX attack!" The XXX attack will be a random, physical damage dealing attack from across all 5 generations. These attacks will also follow the rules of the type resistances from Round 1. So if Charizard and Cradily were duking it out, with 48 hours to go I might say "The arena is hit by an Earthquake attack!" Applying weaknesses and resistances, Cradily takes neutral damage, so gets +0 added onto his cumulative score, whilst Charizard has an immunity, so gets +3 added onto his cumulative score. MODIFIER 5: Votes Anonymous/extra votes are now 20PB each with a limit of 100PB per Pokemon per person per round. If you are sponsoring a Pokemon, if you want to play with anonymous votes these are capped at 40PB for your own.
Sponsored Pokemon get +3 instead of +1 when a sponsor votes for them. That's it! So here's an example, to give some clarity over how the matches will run... EXAMPLE MATCH CROCONAW VS MANECTRIC Typically everything is already figured out, so you don't have to worry about all that stuff I wrote before. All you gotta do is vote for your favourite! But just note how both Manectric and Croconaw start on +2. Before the 48 hour to go countdown, the scoreboard could be: +5 | +7 I might say something like "The arena is hit by a Spark attack!"Croconaw has a weakness to electric attacks, so will get -1, whilst Manectric has an immunity to electric attacks (through Lightningrod) and will therefore gain +3. The scoreboard going into the final 48 hours will then be: +4 | +10 I wouldn't worry to much about these though, the most you can do is rally voters and get them to vote! Even though there are all these variables, the only guaranteed way of getting +1 votes is, oddly enough, by voting! I hope this make some sense, but all will be clear when we start M1, M2, M3 and M4 tomorrow! Each match is expected to last around 4 days, similar to Round 1.

Ok sorry for being a bit slack but here are the Round 2 matchups! MATCH 1: SHUCKLE VS HOUNDOOM COMMENTARY: Well well now we have our first match to kick off Round 2! Shuckle is a hugely underrated Pokemon, but he's proven he can duke it out with the best of them knocking out 16th seeded Umbreon in the last round! But can the defensive turtle take it up to Houndoom? I think he can! However we just got to be wary of the firedog in this battle: he knocked out the 1st seeded Typhlosion in Round 1: so a Shuckle should be easier to beat up, right...? Who knows? These two head into the battle on a fairly even footing so it's almost anyone's guess! DP'S PICK: Shuckle MATCH 2: ESPEON VS PORYGON COMMENTARY: Espeon used to be one of my favourite Pokemon, and I ran one in my very first Gold playthrough.. However I think Porygon here could be the one to get on top of this one! His Download ability increases his attack stat to give him a little bit of an advantage, his elusiveness at the slots make him somewhat of a mysterious type... Porygon however does head into the match with a 1 vote advantage which is why I think he'll prevail! DP'S PICK: Porygon MATCH 3: EEVEE VS FLAREON COMMENTARY: I think this is the very first 1 on 1 evolutionary battle we've ever had in the Battle Royale! On the surface, you'd say the evolved counterpart would be a shoo-in for the victory, right? But here in the battle arena, there's more than just stats, or looks that will get you by - you have to be able to win over the crowd. And I think cute little Eevee can do exactly that with his innocence! Just even looking at him makes you want to root for him! However, he does have an uphill battle to face in Flareon, who might not impress anyone with his moveset but he definitely will with his charisma. DP'S PICK: Flareon MATCH 4: STEELIX VS [4] DRAGONITE COMMENTARY: Dragonite is the only seeded Pokemon left in the top half, and now his horror draw continues - he'll be facing off against Steelix who is another formidable foe. Probably the two strongest Pokemon left in the top half and they happen to be battling it out! This is going to be big, big and BIG. I'm a fan of Dragonite as he's the original dragon, and there's something about him that's cute yet fierce at the same time. Steelix doesn't appeal to me too much as I prefer sweepers over slow walls, but others might disagree - and that niche following could be what sends the iron snake over the line. DP'S PICK: Dragonite Remember you get only 1 vote per group, counts as 3 if you've sponsored a Pokemon, and if you want to play with extra votes, you do not post in here, but rather you PM me! (These will not be revealed until the end of the round. Be careful with what you do as there are no change of minds in terms of voting!) As always, I enjoy reading your reasons of your votes, so put them down (not compulsory). Please refrain from editing your votes because then I have to scroll around and readd everything and I might just make mistakes with my math... A gentle reminder that if you are anonymously voting for your own sponsored Pokemon, then the maximum on that Pokemon is 40PB. If you are anonymously voting for a Pokemon you're not sponsoring, then the 100PB limit will still apply as per usual. VOTING STARTS NOW! WILL LAST 3-4 DAYS. Ill be updating the scoreboard if I see fit, but not all the time. PRELIM SCOREBOARD M1: +2 | +2 M2: +1 | +2 M3: +0 | +3 M4: +2 | +2 Happy voting!

Shuckle, Espeon, Eevee, Dragonite
I think we can kind of already tell who is winning based on the tips... Unless some serious shenanigans happen with anonymous voting
