I had the Red version, played that thing all day and all night. I remember it took me ~1 year to get through a cave since I didn't have flash. Funnnnnn times...

Diamond and LeafGreen were my first Pokémon games together, but I preferred the latter. I guess that doesn't count, though. Yet I still feel nostalgic when I play my Yellow version.

I couldn't find the 4th gym, actually I thought I'd already fought it, so when I realized where it was, my team was pretty strong. I was stuck for a few months at least, during which time I played my Kanto games.

My older siblings played gold and silver first, then red and blue. But I played blue first, since it was the first one.

I was 14 when the originals came out, so ya, I've been playing since day 1 and loving it still to this day. I still have every version made and I'll bounce between playing older ones and newer ones all the time. Always crazy to jump from 5gen to 1gen mechanics, makes you rethink a lot of strategies and re-look at some older Pokemon you normally wouldn't think to use.
I owned both red and blue when it came out, but I played red while my dad would play blue so we could trade the version exclusives. Actually playing through yellow right now even.

8 years ago, I was playing with my friend and he showed me a game; Firered. So, of course I bought it, and played all day and all night. My very favorite game, and I still play today. I bought the other pokemon games, like platinum and HG, but My Firered, and another one, Mystery Dongeon Blue rescue team (My friend's dog ate it), were my favorite games. I was amazed by the gameplay and all the Pokemon, even if I didn't understand english.

Pokemon Red was my first Pokemon game, shortly after followed Yellow. Then Silver and Crystal. I now honor those by playing them. ;b I am currently playing Pokemon Yellow version on my GBC right now. And my silver... well I had to restart so once I beat Yellow I'll be starting on that.
boy oh boy, do I need to go out and buy a DS. haha.

I was six when this game came out, but I actually didn't find out about the games until a few weeks ago. I knew about the show and the cards, as well as Stadium and the picture taking one, but not the RPGs. Then I was playing Minecraft and found a Pokémob mod, and I was like, "I need me some Stadium." I found out about Red and Blue and Gold and all the others, and started with Red, as Charizard is my favorite. I remember getting a holo Charizard in the very first pack. Can you say AWESOME?!
Oh, my first video game was GoldenEye for the N64.

I can sympathize, it seemed to take forever to get through Ice Cave the first time I played Gold, and it took me weeks to get past the Elite Four because I only had a level fifty Meganium with a level six wooper as back up. Man, I wish I could be ten again… Anyway, back to the topic…. I was nine when I convinced my mom to help me buy my Red version. I was hooked so bad that I declared that I would love Pokemon forever, and guess what! I still do! …I do wish that I still had the time to play, regularly, though…

My first game was Leaf Green when I was 10, but I got Gold after that and it's been tied as my favorite game along with Emerald.

My first game was Yellow, it was not until far later that I realized Blue and Red existed. By then I had moved on to Silver. Though I did eventually get both Red and Blue. I was 12 in 1999, but did not start pokemon until the age of 13 in 2000. Honestly I don't even see what the implication was in this remark.

First game was red/blue. I was 6/7. Been hooked since. Missed the start of 3rd gen (played them after 4th gen) and I skipped b/w only to play through much later. I'm in another hiatus from playing. I think 3nd and 2nd gen are my all time favorites, but 1st Gen is where it all started for me.
