So, we just got some fresh leaks from Corocoro today to go with the nifty new board changes. First off, we now have confirmed mega evolutions for Sceptile and Swampert! Sceptile becomes a Grass/Dragon type with Lightning Rod for some reason, and Swampert picks up the ever-amazing Swift Swim. Also we have a mega of Diancie, for which no one had asked (they seriously should have just given Carbink a three stage line). Along with that, we also now know that the new looks for Groudon and Kyogre are actually "Primal" forms and not mega evolutions. Images of the redesigned teams magma and aqua, as well as Brendan, May, and Steven (@%$& yes) are also present in the leak. You can view the images here until the site updates.

I actually like Mega-Swampert, and if it's as bulky as it looks, then Politoed might see a bit more usage. It helps that he already has a usable Hp stat.
Sceptile looks faster and stronger physically, although I never thought that it really looked like he was specially based, so I probably can't make that judgement. Being physically oriented would help him out a lot, though. He does gain three natural double resistances to fairly common types, and one of those is further upgraded to an immunity, which is good, but also gains a double weakness to go with them. He also trades a weakness for two new ones.
Mega-Diance is completely out of the blue, but she's very cute. It kind of looks like she grows up a bit. I don't really have anything else to say about her, but the heart motif is quite cute.
So far, it just seems that Primal Devolution is just another way of saying Mega Evolution, in a way that could apply to several other legendaries, but could also be applied as a mechanism to prevent making them too overpowered. It's far too early to say either way. It does stay with the lore that Groudon and Kyogre are unique, though, and therefore can't have mutated in Kalos, I suppose.
I can't say much for the remakes of the Magma and Aqua, nor of Steven, but I do prefer Brendan and May classic. These two just seem more cartoonish in comparison. And they totally betray that Brendan is wearing a hat.
I'm fairly optimistic about these reveals, and it proves that they are able to add new Mega evolutions mid-Generation.
So, will Ash be receiving a Charizardite, or a Sceptilite?

Just realized that we don't even have regular Diancie yet. Make it happen, GF.
